Hi Rebecca, I love this website! I couldn't sleep the first couple nights when I got my puppy because she cries in her crate. Then I started to Google for solution and found this website. I loved it! The tricks/tips that you showed really worked! ~Thank you so much!~

However, I posted a question on the forum under Ask The Train about my puppy's phobia on bowls, hopefully there is some tips that you can suggest me or direct me. Thank you very much!
  2. Hi, Sasha...

I'm going to re-post this in the "Ask the Trainers" section of the forum... that's where we answer training questions...

Glad to hear you're hard at work on making Zeus into a superpuppy!

    Hi Rebecca,

Thank you for your responce and a welcome post.

As you already know I got a boxer puppy. Zeus just turned 9 weeks old.

Obviously you know about dogs more then I do and I've seen you posting some very nice advices.

I would really apreciate it if you could give me some suggestions on how to exercise with Zeus.
I'm trying to follow the Dog Whisperer's formula for dogs -

exercise ( minimum of two thirty minute structured walks with a pack leader, twice a day ),

discipline ( clearly communicated and consistenly enforced rules, boundaries, and limitations ),

affection (in the form of physical affection, treats, play time ).

    In that order.

exercise wise - He doesn't really walk far from the house yet, so I can't take him for long walks. I would like to learn what I could do to exercise with him outside and inside.
affection wise - Is fetch an exercise or a game ? ( he only plays fetch inside the house )

    Thank you,

P.S. If you could give me some ideas for games it would be great.
P.P.S. Anything that you would like to teach me about my puppy would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, once again, for your time ,

Hi there! I'm back. Finally, my computer is up and I'm back. Whew! That was a challenge.

Anyway, in the time I've been off-line, Diamond has been doing well. She established a routine of going outside to do her business right after her 8 a.m. breakfast. And, she was peeing outside most days (but then, we've been spending a great deal of time in the backyard, so I don't know if it's because we're there or if she has realized that's where to go.) Anyway, we've had a few accidents, though I've noticed that it's been when Andrew (my husband) and I have an argument, or if I"m upset. However, most days/nights, she's been pretty steady; going out the doggie door to do her business (except at night - she wants to be escorted).

Last night, we began getting her accustomed to us not being home in the evening because we want to go out without putting her in the backyard. So, we began with leaving her for 30 minutes - saying "good-by, watch the house, we'll be gone for a short time." When we came back, she was at the door, and she hadn't peed in the house and nothing had happened.

Later, I took her out twice to pee - nothing. Then, this morning, I found a puddle in the entryway - she must have peed during the night. I was upset, but didn't say anything to her, just cleaned it up. The coup de grace was when I was vacuuming the house an hour later, she was upset about the vacuum cleaner (although in the past she would just run outside) and I found she had peed in the entryway again! Frustrating! I guess she's really, really sensitive.

That's the latest. I've begun to feel that I am not up to training her, and we'll be making trips to Europe later in the year or early next year (my daughter lives there) and I'm wondering if she'll be able to come along and be a good guest. Maybe I'm too impatient to have a non-house-trained doggie. I'm 61 and she's only my 2nd dog. My 1st dog was already house-trained when I got her.

I guess I'm in need of encouragement.

Well, glad to be back! Koko

Wow, I get all the gossip on Rebecca's page

Can you believe I have never before seen a pic of Abercrombie? I knew Baskerville for years, and all the others, too, but I never knew your one true love. Thanks for posting the pic.
  8. WOW! That is a LONG story-- He asked me out for months, but I kept avoiding him because he was too young (Iwas 23&he was 19). Well my last year of School the day I was to get into my apartment the line to get the key was about a two hour wait, and my Senior Seminar Orientation was in about 15 min. I couldn't miss my class, but my poor sweet 3 month old kitty needed a place to be (NOT my car with temps of 100 or more!). Anyway, Mike saw me and came over to talk to me and he said "you have a cat, can I hold her?"--SOoo I asked him if he could watch her while I go to class. He not only watched her he talked the the owner into giving him my key and set up her box and water and got her all cozy in my apartment So, needless to say I owed him a date, and realized he was one special guy--here we are 20 years later
